Extreme temperatures
A one hour talk that describes the physics of extreme temperatures. The talk covers the concepts of heat and temperature and gives examples of temperatures in the negative and positive Celsius scale. It introduces the concept of electrical resistance of materials and describes superconductors in an easy to understand way. The talk is accompanied by liquid nitrogen demonstrations.
Requirements
We would very kindly ask the school to purchase, store and safely dispose the liquid nitrogen that is needed for this talk. Please refer to COSHH for guidance.
